Utah
What Utah's rule says
What are the calling hours in Utah?
In Utah, telephone solicitations are allowed from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and never on Sundays or legal holidays. The rule is Utah Code § 13-25a-103(3), and the only way around it is the person's prior express consent.
Unlike most states, Utah doesn't exempt existing customers: an established business relationship doesn't lift the Sunday and holiday ban; only prior express consent does.
Utah's legal holidays include Pioneer Day on July 24, a holiday no other state observes, along with Juneteenth since 2022.
The law covers residential and cellular phones and speaks of a 'telephone call or message', which arguably reaches texts.
Who the rule covers
Utah's window applies on top of the federal 8 a.m.–9 p.m. rules; where both apply, follow the narrower one.
- Covers: anyone making telephone solicitations to residential or cellular phones in Utah.
- Exception: the person's prior express consent. An existing business relationship isn't enough.

Time zones and area codes in Utah
Utah is on one clock: Mountain.

Calling Utah from TopReach
TopReach smart lists only dial a lead inside the legal window in their own time zone (weekdays 9 a.m.–9 p.m., weekends 10 a.m.–6 p.m.) and skip statutory holidays, and a rep calling a lead outside their hours is asked to confirm first. They don't apply Utah's own rule for you. To stay inside it, set your workspace's quiet hours from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m., business days Monday to Saturday, and skip Utah's state holidays that aren't federal holidays, such as Pioneer Day.
Recording calls into Utah: One-party consent: you can record a call you're on. TopReach records only when your workspace policy says so (never, always, or the rep's choice), and it doesn't play a recording announcement for you, so reps say it at the start of the call where consent is needed.
